The Start of Football

Football preseason is almost over and next thurs is the first game of the regular season between the Saints and Colts. This is one of the best matchups that I have viewed on paper so far and it might as well be the best start to a new nfl season. The matchup over who is tougher and quicker wil decide who is the victor of this game. Brees vs. Manning is a great qb matchup as well as each defensive line. I predict the Saints win in a close game 31-28 over the defending superbowl champions and to start of my early superbowl prediciton i believe that the Chargers will square off against the Saints and that one of these teams will get their first superbowl trophy and all fingers point in the direction of the AFC... By the way I even left out my favorite team the 49ers because they have the ability to make the playoffs but im not sure they have what it takes as of yet to go all thew way. Just be sure that Chargers willo be sending teams into "LIGHTS OUT"....

I don't know if the Saints are capable of making the playoffs this year. Don't get me wrong they had a great season last year, and I hate to say it was a fluke, but I feel like they aren't really as good as everyone makes them out to be. The Chargers are definitely a good pick to go to the Bowl though, and I can't wait for the season to start either.

Your right about the saints season being a fluke but it looks like the nfc is gonna be a horrible conference once again but I dont know the saints seem to have passion and potential and it looks like they could be the team to take the south unless joey harrington comes out of nowhere and surprises everyone and becomes the new leader in atlanta.

i think your forgetting a couple things here like who beat the chargers in the playoffs last year? im not a patriots fan by any means but when you give a 3 time super bowl winner and 2 time super bowl mvp weapons like randy moss and laurency maroney just to name a few you have to say realisticly that New England has the best shot to win the Super Bowl. Also i love the saints who doesnt but i think they are going to have the same problem as last year with that soft defense of theirs, i wouldnt look to far away from your 49er team theyre young hungry and very physical.

The 49ers are def hungry but are still a young team I give them another year or 2 at the most to be close to weapons of mass destructioin like they were during the 80's. I will never count them out as one of my fav teams of all time.

I like both picks, but I would have to say each team will end its season in the Conference Championship games. The New Orleans Saints have a great chance of returning to the NFC title game, but I believe the Chicago Bears have a better chance of returning to the big game, as they have a great defense in a weak conference. I see the Chargers losing again to the New England Patriots, this time in the AFC Championship. It should be fun to let it all play out.

I disagree with some of your predictions, i think the Chargers might take a step back with a different head coach. I do though like what the 49ers have done. Theyre 4 1st round draft picks in 2 years i think have been really solid and should turn into great players in this league. Them, along with a maturing Alex Smith and Frank Gore should make this a good team for a long time.
